We were on a gastro tour of Bilboa and were guests of Fernando and the Etxanobe. Can’t recommend this establishment enough, both the staff and the experience will be remembered. Also Fernando is a genuinely lovely man whom we met on our departure and also signed a book and menu (now on my kitchen wall). A must for excellent dining if visiting Bilboa.

Thank you for a fabolous meal. Everything was fantastic from the beautifully textured carpaccio of scampi to be delicious anchovy lasange and wonderfully smoon frozen yogourt. Will definitely recommend to our friends who all already love Bilbao, but will no doubt want to come again to experience this!
Many Thanks for a very enjoyable evening.

The regional cooking in this restaurant is first class and the service was excellent. They make the most of a brutal concrete room by good styling and the view is great. I can highly recomend this for any visitor to Bilboa who wants good regional cooking

Meal was fabulous. Service was excellent and the food was lovely. The chef even came out to speak to us and he signed a book for us. Would definately recommend it

The fish dishes at Etxanobe were excellent – between the 2 of us we had Lasagne of Anchovies, fish soup, fried hake & rock fish – all were perfect and could not be faulted. We should have given the desserts a miss (rice pudding & goat cheese tatin). Good selection of wines including some great sherry by the glass and lovely reserva cava by the glass Being Spain.

Dear friends, it is one of my weak points, I think I know all the most important restaurants in Spain and believe me, this one is my favourite with no doubt. It sets an example of how traditional cooking can be taken to the altars of haute cuisine. First quality ingredients (if you enjoy vegetables, as well as fish which tastes of fish and not with strange sauces or creams) this is the place I recommend
The service is exceptional, the views are breathtaking and Maria Angeles the Maitre is thoroughly professional. When in Bilbao, Etxanobe no doubt.

Etxanobe is the best restaurant we have found in Spain. The decoration is breathtaking just like the views from the terrace. However the food was very special. The best fish soup you can find. We were on a gastronomique tour across the north of Spain and it has been a great discovery.

We have come from London to Bilbao. In London they had already told us the Etxanobe an excellent restaurant where the service was excellent. The Anchovie Lasagna was delicious. We will come back. By the way regards to Zigor, a great soumelier who did a great job with the wines.

When the food stays in the memory for me is a good meal. It was my first visit to Bilbao and a colleague doctor recommended the Etxanobe. It was a great discovery, and I had the opportunity to eat on the terrace, the day was wonderful…. wich remains in my memory with a wonderful tuna and that carpaccio “de cigalas”. Of course I want to return to bilbao with my wife and go with her to Etxanobe. Thanks for your work, a friend of Valladolid.
